For a fundraiser for the AASHE group, it was proposed by several to try to build an electric vehicle. The issue with this is the limited space to do so. As an alternative members will convert a Harley Davidson motorcycle to electric. This project is easier that it may sound, since a full drive train and controls are available for purchase. Additionally, Chris’s Choppers offered to donate a custom bike frame. Motor cycling enthusiast Gonzaga staff members, have offered their expertise and spare parts for the project. For cash sources, there are several potential sources; potential some internal GU Engineering funds, and APPA student research grants. Finally, Beau Grillo of Liberty Lake has offered to donate a custom paint job.
The goal of this project is complete the bike assembly by midyear. This bike will then be auctioned off to alumni and university supporters as part of an AASHE project presentation. The funds raised by the sale of the bike will go toward the other projects described in this report.
